Have you ever had one of those weeks where you have so much going on you don’t know how you’re going to get it all done? I’m about to have one of those weeks.
My friend, Jenn, the person I’ve known longest outside of my family, is flying into NY for the first time tomorrow! We haven’t seen each other in over two years which is the longest we’ve ever gone between visits. We always ate junk food together so she knows my old habits, but she’s not familiar with my healthy habits. She’ll be here for a week, and in addition to showing her the sights, I’m going to introduce her to some amazing foods that we didn’t have growing up.
One day, we will eat real NY pizza. It’s the best! 🙂 We’ll also have real Italian food (because Olive Garden doesn’t come close to the goodness that is real Italian food.) We’ll eat Greek food one evening, Thai food at our birthday party…
Oh yeah, our birthday party…that’s another thing. 😉 Two of my friends and I are celebrating our birthdays together with friends which means tons of fun…and food…and cake.
So here’s my plan…I’ll eat what I want to eat (like I usually do,) making sure that I eat all of my fruits and veggies, drink my water and count every bite I take. One of my favorite quotes is “If you nibble it, scribble it.” And it applies this week more than ever!
So wish me luck as I do my best to make wise choices. I plan to enjoy myself while eating more healthy foods than unhealthy ones. I’ll do my best regardless, but I hope my friend doesn’t mind because I plan to have non-stop fun with her all week. 🙂
