Friend Makin' Mondays Holiday Eating Holidays Lifestyle

Friend Makin’ Monday

Shawn at Seriously is hosting FMM this week, and she wants to know about our Independence Day plans. If you want to participate, just click here for the details.

Here’s the list of questions:

What are you doing on the 4th of July?

I’m sure I’ll celebrate with friends by the pool…A little BBQ and swimming is always a good way to celebrate. Maybe we’ll watch some fireworks too? I’m not sure yet. I’m usually more interested in the following day, my birthday. 😉

What is your favorite dish to bring to a BBQ?

The people I’ll spend my holiday with are pretty good about offering healthy choices. But in the last few months I’ve started bringing dishes I know I can eat so I’ll probably make a low-calorie pasta salad and a watermelon.

Do you have any Independence Day traditions?

Nope…I’m in my 20’s, remember? So I’m just starting to plant my own roots in NY. A BBQ with friends by the pool sounds like a good tradition to start. 🙂

Share your favorite 4th of July photo:

I took this picture a few weeks ago when I was sailing on the Hudson with my friend, Chris. And though it wasn’t taken on the 4th, to me, it’s a symbol of our nation’s independence.

Now I’d like to know your plans for the 4th.  What’s the best part of the holiday for you?

Once you do something twice it can qualify as tradition. 🙂 Love the photo of Lady Liberty.
