Fall Family Travel Vacation

So Much Fun…

I’ve been in Colorado this week visiting with my sister and her family. My dad and some of my favorite relatives from Texas came to visit too so it has been a fantastic week. We’ve done a lot of sight seeing, and I’ve spent time with my perfect and beautiful niece (who is 5 months old.)

We visited Pike’s Peak and the Garden of the Gods…And we did a lot of shopping too. I think it’s important to teach Hannah about the finer things in life.

My motto, which I have borrowed from Coco Chanel is…

“The best things in life are free; the second best are expensive.”

It has truly been such a pleasure to see my Great Aunt Meme and relatives from my dad’s side of the family. Aunt Meme and I have been writing letters to each other – and sending them through “snail mail” every other week for years. And thought I don’t see her often, when I saw her it was as if I had seen her yesterday. Spending time with her reminds me of my childhood, and it was really nice to hear about family members who passed away before I really got to know them.

Now I’m feeling a little sad because I’ll be heading home tomorrow. And there’s just no easy way to say goodbye to my family. It’s hardest to say goodbye to my “little banana” (Hannah.) From the moment I saw her last week, we have laughed together..I’ve held her, cuddled her…and at some point I realized I love her more than I even could have realized. And I think she has brought my sister and me closer than we’ve been in years…maybe ever. 🙂

It has been a great week, and I look forward to coming back soon. Now I’m packed and geared up to fly home. The flight here was full, and I would guess that this one will be full too. I hope it isn’t, and if it is, I hope I sit next to someone who is friendly. Wish me luck.
