Tonight was opening for Hansel and Gretel at the Metropolitan Opera, and I went with some of my lovely friends. We had a fantastic evening, and I know next time will be even better (because I’ll go when I don’t cough so much that I fear I’ll go into convulsions.) Note to self: do not go to the opera when you can’t stop coughing for more than 45 seconds.
I went out during the second act to have a cup of hot tea so I was able to make it through the third act without much trouble. Char offered to sit out with me (because she’s awesome like that,) but it worked out nicely. And I didn’t have to miss very much.
Nights like tonight are the reason I moved to New York. An evening with friends in the greatest city on earth still makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world, sick or not…
And I’m thrilled to say that I was comfortable in the small seats. I am positive that I would have been extremely self conscious/uncomfortable prior to my weight loss. And I’m looking forward to the future when I can sit in those chairs while they feel roomy. 😉
I am blessed. I am happy. I am going to the doctor again tomorrow morning. I need to feel fantastic by no later than Friday because we’re hosting our second annual Christmas party then preparing for a Christmas visit from my dad. 🙂 Yay!
I’m really looking forward to the next few weeks. What are you looking forward to most in the coming days?
