Saturday was a fantastic day because I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Hungry Girl, Lisa Lillien. She was just as wonderful as I had imagined she’d be. And her staff, her sister and her friends were equally awesome.
After she spoke to the audience, she autographed books for everyone who stood in line. She even autographed a book for my blog which one lucky reader will receive! More on that in a moment. After signing my books, she said “Ohh, you’re @AllTheWeigh?” and asked to see a “before” pic which was pretty awesome considering I do not yet have an “after” picture.
We chatted after the signing, and I showed her a couple of pics at my heaviest. She and her peeps were all extraordinarily sweet and encouraging.
I learned that she loves her Lord of the Onion Rings as much as I do – and another of her favorites is the Hungry Girlfredo. I would have to agree..these recipes are awesome just like countless others. If you haven’t tried them then do it today!
We also received grab bags full of healthy goodies that I already love. We got Fiber One cereal, Laughing Cow Cheese, Vitatops, Tasti-D-Lite gift cards (seriously awesome..I know!) We also got mashed potato flakes, Pop Chips (which rock my world) and other goodies. I’ve been to other books signings, but I’ve never been to one like this. If you have an opportunity see her you should. 🙂
A local newspaper asked me a few questions which was exciting until I read the flawed article today. They misquoted me, said I was 28 instead of 29 and reported that it had taken me a year and a half to lose 92 pounds rather than the year it actually took. That part really bothers me because you all know I’ve been diligent over the last 52 weeks. But hey…what can I do? 😉
I also made a new friend from the Rachael Ray show, and I’m excited to see her again on Wednesday when I attend a taping of the show. She was cool and lovely and so sweet! I can’t wait to enjoy the Rachael Ray show later this week.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love New York? Experiences like this is one of the biggest reasons I love it here! 🙂
