Let’s Get Started

Sean and I are so pleased to be joined by so many in our first challenge which starts today! Here’s an excerpt from my original post:

Water is essential to good health so we’re going to drink more of it. And we’d love for you to join us. One of the reasons I love this blogging, weight-loss community is that we are in this together. If you want to be part of the challenge then leave a comment on my blog or Sean’s before Monday stating how much water you’d like to drink each day. If 8 glasses seems too hard, try 6.
We will post our updates on Sunday evenings, and we want to hear about your progress as well!

One more thing…

This message is for those of you interested in joining us for this challenge. Before we begin please be aware that there is such a thing as drinking too much water. Please understand that our personal goals are to drink 64 oz. per day which is widely accepted as a healthy amount of water consumption. Sean and Kenz are not medical or nutritional experts, they are just really cool weight loss bloggers. Please consult a qualified physician before starting any weight-loss regimen.

Also, a few of you have asked if we’ll drink plain water of if we’ll count all liquids. Sean and I will be drinking natural H2O that has not been chemically altered by aspartame and other chemicals that can be found in drinks like Crystal Light and other similar powder packets.


Below is a list of everyone who plans to participate in the challenge. If you’re interested in joining us, it’s not too late! Just leave a comment, and we’ll be sure to add you to the list. We did our best to add everyone, but if you don’t see your name on the list then let us know so you can be included too. Bottoms up everyone!

    :d I'm on the list, but just wanted to confirm that I'll be a part of the challenge. I'm doing 64 oz a day of pure, filtered water. None of that flavored stuff for me. ๐Ÿ˜€ Deb

    I am aiming for 4 of my 500ml bottles of water (no flavourings or sweetners) which google tells me is 67oz (in usa measurements)

    Should also get some exercise in going up and down the stairs to the bathroom. lol ๐Ÿ™‚

    I would love to join all of you. I have just started following Sean and he is sooo inspiring and found the link to your site. Im in NY as well,well Bklyn…and I am inspired by you as well.My own personal goal is to lose 115 and to walk in the disney princess half marathon feb 2011.

    My goal is 2 litres a day (which translates to 2 full jugs of a blue water bottle I keep at my desk).

    4 cups down so far for the day, 4 to go — and sometimes with my exercise schedule I go up to 12, which could happen today. This is on top of my (admittedly ridiculous and excessive) Diet Coke consumption.

    I figure I need the water to counteract the diuretic effects of the caffeine ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hi Kenz. I got in my daily gallon of water today. With this heat & humidity, it was a simple choice. Whew!

    I have actually been doing this on my own a few weeks after giving up my 15 year habit of drinking 6 cans of diet coke a day. I also discovered cracked black pepper and olive oil triscuts which are delicious and high in fiber. I blogged about giving up diet coke but now I will post link to this. by the way happy belated b day Kenz!
