I’ll Take It..

Thanks for the questions yesterday. I’ll answer them in the coming days, but right now I want to talk about today’s WW meeting. I weighed in on the same scale last week so I was looking forward to getting back there today. I expected a loss, but I wasn’t expecting to have such a big loss. According to the scale, I lost 13.8 pounds taking me to a total of about 124 pounds. What?!

I have never shown such a big loss in one week, and I can only imagine that it was a combination of releasing water weight and getting back to the basics. I made them check the numbers more than once then just accepted that the weight that has been holding on was ready to go.
I ate well all week, and I exercised several times. And I’m going to do the same again this week. While I doubt I’ll see another loss like this, I’ll be thrilled to be a pound lighter by this time next week. I don’t need to lose 14 pounds a week to feel successful. In fact, I think it’s too much to lose at once. But I’m excited about it, and I look forward to doing my best again in the next seven days.

Wow! That's great. It's amazing the effect stress can have on our bodies. I wonder if that was part of it. I agree that it's too much on a regular basis, but sometimes the body does funny things to adjust.

    Congrats!

That is awesome, Kenz! I'm with those pointing out the stress factor. Since you've got some resolution and are settling in to your "new normal", I think it's natural that your body would release some reserves it would have tried to hold onto.

I swear, my body is terrified we're going to forget the mammoth hunt this year and have no meat stored for the winter or something some days. Sheesh πŸ™‚

Sometimes you can't reason it out. The body will release the weight when it is ready. Congratulations! Now just be sure not to get discouraged in the future when you have done all the right things and the scale doesn't reflect that. But I know from reading past posts that you're good about this and realize this is a long journey.
