I Wonder…

I’ve had some really deep thoughts this week (see blog posts below.)  But right now I don’t have much to say.  I completed a workout after a couple of days of flu-like symptoms, and I feel pretty decent again.

One weird thing that I’ve experienced lately (that I noticed last winter too) is that while everyone else is comfortable, even exceedingly warm, I am cold.  And I don’t mean a little chilly, I mean I’m cold to the point that it almost hurts.  This happens during the day and at night.  Falling asleep has gotten ridiculous lately.  I can’t seem to get warm unless I have four blankets, my thick sweatshirt and big, fleece socks.

I was never a person who got really cold until last year.  I can even remember sleeping with gloves on a few times.  Seriously…I wonder if something is wrong with me.  Or is my body just changing?  I’m really not sure…

Who else has worked out today?  I loved seeing all of your responses yesterday.  Knowing that I’m not alone in this never gets old.  Thanks friends…

    Oh my word! Me too! I can't sleep and am freezing all the time! I still can't figure out why I'm not sleeping…and I wonder if all this water I'm drinking is making me cold. Maybe Diet Coke used to keep me warm? Who knows!?

    I am ALWAYS cold. Everyone else is fine, but my toes are stinging and I am bundled up and STILL cold. I wish I could find a way to fix it!!

    I have never been so cold before this winter, I thought it was just because I was getting old. LOL! Perhaps you're onto something here…let fluff to keep us warm. I am in love with our duel-zone electric blanket. 🙂

    I didn't work out today…maybe tonight, the day is still young!

    Hi Kenz, Have you every had your thyroid checked. I went through extreme coldness and sluggish weight loss. Turns out it was my thyroid. I had 3 tumors growing on it and it wasn't working. Its worth checking out.

    I'm cold all the time too! Hmmmmm. Strange. Glad you are feeling better. I am hoping to get my first post-sick workout in tomorrow. We shall see. 🙂

    I've been cold since last year, too. I used to always be hot. I mean sometimes, I'm actually shivering. I know what you mean about being so cold it hurts.

    I can't believe the amount of clothes I wear to bed and the blankets–and I'm STILL cold. I don't know if its that my glucose is now under control or my blood pressure is no longer 200/100 or the weight loss or the lack of carbs–or all of the above, but I AM COLD!

    Me too!!! Last year I was walking (for excercise) outside all winter with gloves, a hat and no coat. This year I have to wear a coat and even then I dread it. I get cold very easily now. I lost 100 lbs, but only 30 in the last year. I think your body is just changing, but I'm going to get me a physical to make sure I'm not anemic. I also started making sure I take a vitamin which is something I haven't been doing.

    I'm always cold, but I asume is from being from an all summer country. You can check to see if you may have anemia too.
    I've been working out! This is my begining stages but I'm so proud I still have the will to do it every day!

    I went from 290 to 150 and I am now always cold… my hands and feet have been referred to as corpse like. I think our bodies just aren't use to having to warm themselves. I also shiver constantly and its pretty embarrassing… and I mean full out shaking with teeth chattering.

    I experienced the excessively cold thing, too, after I lost 100 lbs. It was such a strange sensation…being cold after spending my entire life constantly being hot! Three years after losing that weight, my body temp is more regulated. Now I'm cold only when it really makes sense to be. 🙂

    my feet were like that last night it was horrible.
    finally i had to take my socks off and massage them to get some blood flowing again
    first time it hurt that bad.

    count me in on the lost a hundred pounds, freezing cold now. My thyroid levels are being checked, waiting for results. Yesterday I noticed I actually had such cold hands that my blood flow wasn't quite right. WEaring gloves (in the house) fixed it. fun with weight loss

    it is a common thing it seems to me for folks that have lost a large amount of weight!! I am ALWAYS cold!!

    think of all the cute jackets and sweaters we get to buy 🙂

    Yes,I worked out – inclined treadmill & Firm DVD. As for the cold you're feeling, maybe it's bad circulation? I have bad circulation in my feet, and they're always freezing. But it wouldn't hurt to go to a doctor, or check out webmd also.

    I've noticed that I'm particularly cold when LOSING weight – as though my body is using calories for everything else and keeping warm has been downgraded in importance. Then when I maintain for a week or two, I don't feel as outstandingly chilled. So I associate the chill with a loss, and I don't mind it quite as much 🙂

    Ever since I lost 100 pounds, I have been freezing all the time! It drives my husband crazy because I need the heater on 76 to be comfortable. At work, I'm freezing all the time. I think it is just that we don't have all of that insulation anymore to keep us warm. 🙂
