Weigh-In Results

I weighed myself on the scale at home last Friday for the first time, and I knew the results would be good this week because I’ve been in a very healthy groove lately.  And I have to sat that stepping on the scale was so much fun today! I’ve lost 9 pounds since last Friday. 

I’ve done some things differently over the last week.  You may know that I’ve been counting calories for a while now, but I had been trying to stay under 2174 per day.  I was losing weight, but I felt like I was eating too much.  I felt too full so last week I decided to cut my calories to 1500 per day.  That didn’t seem like quite enough with the workouts I’m doing so I’ve been floating around 1800 per day, give or take a little.
 
Here’s a snapshot of my caloric intake for the week.  I’ll have more calories to add today, of course…and I haven’t added the calories that I’ve burned yet either, but you get the idea. You can click on the picture to make it bigger if you want to.

My workouts have also been more consistent this month.  And that makes a big difference in my weight-loss too.  I knew it would take some time to look forward to workouts again, but I’m there.  I feel renewed again, and it feels incredible.  I even managed jog around the entire track without stopping yesterday and today.  I feel like a such an athlete! =)

I often say that I have a long way to go, but I’m a lot closer today.  I feel confident that I’m steadily moving in the right direction again, and it feels good.

    Not sure I've ever posted a comment but I have been reading your blog for a long time!! I'm so thrilled with your weigh-in! You've been working hard and that's awesome! I've been stuck in an awful plateau and am hoping that some changed I've made will kick me out of it!!

    Wow, great job!!! That is an awesome weigh in! Just wondering – do you eat the calories you burn when you exercise? I started tracking calories with a website (my fitness pal) and they have you eat what you burn. I get 1700 a day, plus whatever I burn exercising, if I do. Eating the extra calories when you exercise is really important so you know have *too* much of a daily deficit! =)

    Congrats on the 9 pound weight loss, that is incredible!! I love that your goal is to workout for 1000 minutes, which seems like a lot but really isn't. I may need to set a goal like that for myself! Also, doing so makes you not stress over the number on the scale as much.
