Friends Location

Do I Read Your Blog?

I’ve asked this question before, and this probably won’t be the last time.  I appreciate each of you for taking time to share your opinions with me and encourage me, and I want to say thank you.

Last year I wrote a post asking where you lived, and this year I’m asking to know a little about you.  If you remember the old post then you remember me asking for friends and readers to come out of hiding and share their location.  Now I’d love to know your location, but I’d also like to know a little about your personal journey.  Have you/are you losing weight?  What makes you happy? What motivates you?

I love blogging!  I’ve learned so much about healthy eating, exercise, fashion and emotional growth through the blogosphere, and I’ve made some incredible friends too.  If you have a blog then perhaps I already read it.  Either way, leave a comment with a link because I want to encourage and support you just as you support me. And I want to give others the opportunity to share in all of the goodness that I’ve received in the blogging community.

So please take a few minutes to share a little about yourself  and a link to your blog if you have one because our personal journeys are greatly enhanced by each other.  And there’s always room for a new friend…

    Hi Kenz,

I know I've told you how much I LOVE your blog. Anyhow, I live in a suburb of Kansas City, MO and hope to move out of the state one day. I've been blogging (very little) for about two years and still haven't lost much weight. I originally started blogging to help aide in my weightloss; however, it wasn't working, so there wasn't much blogging activity in 2010. I am back at it now along with my weight loss!

Thank you for taking the time out to get to know the blogging community; I think that's great!

    I'm in northern Alberta, Canada.

I am doing Weight Watchers. I have done WW in the past and have always had success when I put the effort in. I started, this time, at just over 318 and I'm down 21 pounds so far.

My children and my husband make me happy. Good movies make me happy. My friends make me happy.

Looking in the mirror motivates me to not look like this anymore. Not fitting fat clothes motivates me and allowing my children to grow up without a morbidly obese mom motivates me as well. I'd settle for 'overweight!' 🙂

Hello! I just came across the Twitter WW chat and stumbled over here. I'm a Texas girl through and through. I've been on WW since August of last year and have lost 28 lbs so far.

I'm single and am like a second mom to my 10 year old triplet niece and nephews. They are what makes me smile every day and one of the reasons I'm determined to beat this weight problem.

My hobbies are reading, photography, scrapbooking and watching all kinds of sports.

You can find me on Twitter: @just_denise

I also did a blog post with answers to last nights #wwchat questions since I was late to the party. Would love for you to come over and read it and give me any advice you can.

    Nice to meet you.

I've been enjoying your blog for a little while now – you are really inspiring! I live in IL in the suburbs of Chicago. I just started my weight loss journey this year – 11.5 pounds gone so far. I decided to start a blog to help keep me motivated, and I was hoping to find support online. I'm trying to get a hang of the blog thing, but, I think, by posting everyday it is helping me to stay on track. I love your blog, and look forward to visiting everyday!

I've been losing motivation, but seeing some of the things you do here on your blog, I've been getting back on track with watching what I eat.

Hey Kenz! It is Shane here! I have been following your blog from my very first day in July 2010. I love your blog. You are like me, you share the good and the bad of this crazy journey.

I have been plugging along in my journey. I weighed in this morning and hoped to see One-derland but came up two pounds shy. I am confident that I will see One-derland on February 25th though! After that I am aiming for 185 and maintenance.

I look forward to following you until you reach maintenance and hope we can get to know each other even better through out this journey!

    Hello Kenz!

Well, first off, I'm in Manitoba, Canada. Brrrr. I've gained and lost the same 75 pounds twice before and I'm losing it for the third time determined that it won't come back. I'm using WW and most recently, activity, activity, activity. Right now, I"m working very hard to be diligent in tracking. As soon as I don't track for a day it's like I think it won't matter and I go wild and the wheels come off and I eat every bad thing I can think of. So now I'm tracking everything, good day, bad day, it's getting tracked.

Gotta go, I"m going to be late for work!!

I'm Sarah and I live in North Carolina, but I'm originally from Wisconsin. I had gastric bypass surgery in April of last year. I've lost 125 lbs in 9 months and I'm feeling fantastic. Before my WL surgery I tried everything from WW to HMR. While I know WLS is not for everyone, it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I still have to work at losing and will eventually have to work at maintaining. You totally inspire me to get off my butt and work out!

I am in Cleveland, OH. I posted all about my weight loss journey on your blog yesterday, it was probably TMI as it was, so I will skip that question.
Things that make me happy: MY DOG!! my BF (sometimes 😛 LOL.. jk), anything and everything about my friends. I recently moved here, and don't know many people, and all my friends are spread out all over the world, so it gets pretty lonely sometimes.
I love your blog! I think you should be really proud of how far you have gotten, and the places you are going.

My friend and I started a blog as an inside joke in January, and it is definitely not weight loss related, it is random, weird, nerdy and .. in my opinion funny 🙂 But it may just be one of those things that is only funny to the people that know us. Anyway, if you wanna check it out – it is:

Hope you all have a wonderful day,

I've been on a journey to better health since March 2010. Have lost 80 pounds through behavior changes like no more mindless snacking at night, exercising more, journaling and tracking calories. I've done WW in the past, lost and regained quite a few times and finally decided I needed to do my best to stop that cycle!!! Bravo on your blog and hope you realize how much you inspire others to keep working on having a healthier life.

I have to say that even though they drive me insane and cause me enough stress to las the rest of my life, my chidren are my motivation and my happiness. I want to be able to teach them good eating and exercising habits. I have one daughter and I don't want her to grow up with a weight problem like I did. I am going to be totally vain here and say I want to be skinny and a hot mom of 3! I want to be skinny for my next pregnancy (hopefully toward the end of next year), so that my belly gets huge! I never looked very pregnant with any of mine, and it kinda made me sad…

Your blog is amazing and you are amazing and I would love for you and any or all of your readers to visit mine and let me know what you think! My readers and their support and encouragment keep me going. 🙂

Hi! I'm Trisha and I'm from NW Indiana. 🙂

It seems like I've been on this journey most of my life. I was overweight as a child, dieted on and off. About a year after my son was born (in 2003) I took my weight on one of those scales in the mall, because I couldn't do it at home anymore. I was tipping around the 400 mark. That scared the crap out of me. I went drastic and talked to someone at the bariatric surgery center. Scheduled my surgery for a couple days after my son's 2nd birthday. The day of surgery I was 412 pounds.

Yeah, I lost weight. Around 80 pounds in the first couple months. Then stopped. Marriage went downhill, divorce, depression… I didn't gain weight, just stayed around 330, for five years. Then finally, something changed in my head… where I needed it. I started eating healthy and exercising. I got down to 265. I've been hanging around there for a few months due to adjusting to my boyfriend moving in, it not being a 100% supporting role in my journey, him not having a job and other life stresses.

I've recently started blogging more. I find my biggest inspiration to keep going is to read other people's journeys to know I am not alone. 🙂 The address of my blog is:

I'm Jess and I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I've struggled with my weight since I can remember. I've been on and off "diets" for the past ohh 7 years or so. This year has been completely different. I started the new year ready to change. I completely abandoned the word diet. I got back on the weight watchers program. I cut out a lot of fast food and soda. The only time I ever order is when when we're snowed in or too sick to go grocery shopping (like today). Since beginning my journey on the 1st of January I have lost 11.8 pounds! When I finally get to my goal I will have lost a total of 134.I have a long ways to go. I'll be honest, watching that number go down on the scale makes me feel happy, but so does the changes I am seeing in my eating habits and in my body. I'm drinking more water, eating more fruits, cooking twice as much as I used to and I love it! I am my own motivation. 7 years ago when I had a bad day, I gave up. If I gained, I gave up. Now? If I have a bad day, I tell myself we all indulge and have bad days. Sometimes I have more bad days then I wish to admit, but it's not the end of the world! Tomorrow is a new day. And if I gain, then I work even harder the next week! Exercising makes me happy too. There a lot of days that I don't want to get off my butt and exercise, but after I do, I am so happy!!

I adore your blog, your journey, and your words that you share with us every week! I check your blog on a daily basis, so that I don't miss any updates 🙂

    Hello, Kenz.

I've kind of been following your tweets on the #7daychip thing – I'm on my second day 5 right now and I'm following you on Twitter. I saw this post and came to your blog. I intended to just put a quick post here as a reply then I started reading…and looking at your photos.

I know you must hear this all the time but you've got some serious motivation and mojo going on here and I think it's fabulous!

I'm Colleen – and live in southern central Illinois. I'm a 35 year old mother of 2 awesome kids and wife to my sweetie of 13 years.

I've been fat all my life. Well it seems that way, at least. But although I "officially" "committed" to this journey in October of 2010, what really happened was I farted around with it and really only got serious after Christmas. I've lost a total of 11.4 and I don't know….I just feel like blogging and getting all this fantastic support from blogging and the #7daychip club has helped something in me completely snap. I am starting to feel like I "get" it.

    I'm a WW-Online girl. I love, love, love it.

    Hello Kenz,

My name is Tammy and I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, ten miles north of Seattle. I started blogging last July when my weight reached my all time high of 391 lbs. I've made little progress and now weigh around 362. I'm struggling to find my way, but won't give up.

My husband of 12 years makes me happy. We are two peas in a pod which is both good and bad. He has the same weight issues as me and we just haven't found a way to help each other change our habits rather than enabling each other. I enjoy electronics, too much television, and playing games. I would never turn down a game, be it a board game, card game, computer game or other.

I find motivation from visiting bloggers that have had success at losing weight. You are an example of someone who really inspires me.

Hi Kenz, I LOVE your blog!!! It is honest, interesting and I visit often. I'm up in Vancouver Canada, have only been blogging for a few months, I'm on weight watchers and am down just over 30lbs, with probably another 35 or so to go. Would love you to stop by my blog and say hi, but in the meantime, have a wonderful weekend.

I found your blog when I signed up for your Christmas Swap (tons of fun, by the way!!)

But I'm from Raleigh, NC & losing weight now by using WW. I've used it before, but this is the first time I've felt totally committed to making the program work. I also am working out more than ever before & loving how it all is making me feel.

I've truly enjoyed reading your blog & finding different tricks and things that I may be able to use now or in the future. I always love new readers, so please feel free to stop by my blog!!

Hi, I've been reading your blog for some time now, and I check it daily for more inspiration. I live in Saudi Arabia, we don't have weight watchers here, and I am not on a weight loss journey currently, but I am wishing to be. Like everyone else I battled a lot with my weight, lost a lot , gained more, lost again and gained even more. But I think reading your blog makes me really think there is hope in my future, I miss having the motivation to start. But I will continue reading, and one day I will have a weight loss blog too . Best of luck 🙂

    Hi, I'm Jenn, blogging at!
I'm on a mission to lose 100 pounds. I was sidetracked by a baby (!) this past year, so I'm just getting back on track, following Weight Watchers to get to my goal!

Hi Kenz- I've been reading your blog for a while and really enjoy your thoughts and inspiration. I was overweight my whole life and dropped 40 pounds 2 years ago by changing my eating habits and exercising more. I've maintained the weightloss at a little healthier weight than my 40 pound loss and now blog and enjoy the community of healthy bloggers. Thanks for being so open about your journey, it's quite inspirational.

    Hi Kenz,
I've really enjoyed reading your blog. I'm from Michigan. I'm working on losing the pounds I've gained since my wedding last year. When I got married, I was in the best shape of my life, but I've let myself go. I decided it's time to change my eating habits and get back into exercising; I'm doing the Running Mate 5k 101 program and I'm almost ready to do my first 5k. I'd love for you to visit me at

I have been reading your blog for a while. I don't comment a lot. I live in GA and have four kids. They are 21, 18 and twin 2 year olds. I started weight watchers in April 2010. I have stalled out, no stopped really following the plan right before Thanksgiving. I restarted last week. Luckily I only gained a total of 3.6. I lost 2.4 this past week. I went from 235 and am now 185.2. I would like to lose to at least 150. I am hoping that I am motivated enough to be back on plan. I am NOT doing points plus. I like momentum and am sticking with it for now.

    HI Kenz…
I have been reading your blog for a bit and have started to actually participate!!
I am from Manitoba Canada, I lost more than 60lbs about 5 years ago and am now struggling to get another 10-15 off my body. I am mom to 4 kids (mostly teens), wife to a cattle farmer, and a budding 'picture taker' and a blogger to 3 public blogs.(the 3 main ones relate in one way or another to each of these areas of my life)
I love blogging and have been doing it for a few years now and I am getting more into photography (so there might be some of that on my blogs)
Please stop by any of all of them and as I always say I♥comments!

    I have a blog!

I'm doing WW and love it. In 9 1/2 months I've lost 70.4 pounds and I'm still going strong. 🙂 My blog is about my weight-loss. What motivates me to keep going in simply my health and the fact that I want to live a long, happy life. I don't want to live my life on the sidelines, watching other people live happy lives. I want to be the one living the happy full life, full of energy, spunk and a zest for life. I want to wear a smile more than tears. I want to be proud of myself for accomplishing something people said I would/could never do. I want to prove them wrong and show them that not only can I do it, will I do it, but I'll keep it off for life and go on to have the happiest, fullest life where I get to help other people do the same thing some day.

What makes me happy? My faith, my family, my friends, singing, dancing, playing piano, painting, creating new things, idea brainstorming, reading, leading, my iPhone, my dog, my two cats, spring, sunshine, puddles to jump in on rainy days with my son, Christmas decorations, organization, bubble baths…the list goes on and on! 😉

I haven't left a comment in a long while, but I am still reading! You were one of many who inspired me to try Weight Watchers again after my way stopped working. The Points Plus plan has been working out for me pretty well so far. I'm still over at (which reminds me I need to get a new post written!)

    HI Kenz.
A little late but here it goes:

I'm Patricia (Nina is my alter Ego Godmother name my little niece gave me) I live in Maryland between Baltimore and DC.
I was the fat one of 5 girls at size 6 so imagine how I feel now that I'm a size 14. I started this journey in December and I have no clue if I have lost weight because I need to get a scale 🙂
The pants are looser but the most important is that I feel much better.
My biggest challenge is a hubs that constantly brings snacks in, so I may have to go all WWE on him.
I love nail polishes, make up, shoes, coffee, photography and scrapbooking.
    I love long walks on the beach and holding hands {hihihi, I kid, I kid}

I love your blog and getting to meet new people that inspire me.

    Hi Kenz!

My name is Sarah and I live near Toronto Ontario Canada. I have two small daughters and the pregnancies took their toll on me and here I am, losing weight again 🙂 I had success in the past with WW (I'm a Lifetime member) but this go around I haven't had the time or the money to follow WW so I'm doing it on my own using the tools at I'm also a Fuzion (Zumba on steriods) addict I've managed to lose 30 lbs this year and am hoping to knock off the last 30 this year! I do have a blog, but it's not something I write in regularly, only when I have "the need"

I love your blog and all the encouragement you share!

I live in Las Vegas, NV and have been working on my weight for 13 days now. I started with 31 weeks until my 31st birthday. I'm determined that this year I get below 200lbs. I don't have any children and my weight has a lot to do with it. I love your blog. I wish I would have come across it sooner to participate in your giveaways but I'm following your challenges. I've only been using the wii for my fitness but soon will be walking at the park with my honey and hopefully getting a gym membership.

Hi! I'm Hannah from New Zealand and have a blog for both my ramblings (beauty, nail polish and furniture) and my reductions. I'm turning my post pregnancy body (I have 3 kids) into something I'm goin to smile at in the mirror. Or at least I'm gonna darn well try!! I started my journey at 189lbs and am down to 153 lbs. Being a shortie (5ft 2), my goal is somewhere around 120lbs. The new thing for me is running! I didn't run a minute before my journey, but I got the C25K app on my phone and have trained myself to run 25min straight now. It's not just about weight loss for me, but getting my original terrible BMI to a 'normal' bracket. I started with an Obese BMI. Health ALL THE WAY!
