Friend Makin' Mondays

Friend Makin’ Mondays: Hobbies

Vincent Van Gogh said “The way way to know life is to love many things.”  And I agree. What we do with our free time can sometimes be the difference between a decent existence and an enjoyable one. So this week’s topic is hobbies.

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add a link at the bottom of this post so we can all see your post. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts.

What do you do to entertain yourself when you have free time?

  • I have several hobbies.  I sing (mostly to myself these days.)

  • I read regularly.  Right now I’m starting a book I’ve wanted to read for ages called “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett.  If you haven’t read it, you check it out here.

  • I scrapbook too though I haven’t done much since last year. I taught scrapbooking classes and sold products for a while. Perhaps I’ll do that again at some point. 🙂  The same goes for jewelry making.  I love it, but I haven’t done it in a while. And who needs to when you receive beautiful gifts like this? =0)

  • My newest obsession is knitting.  I make scarves, purses, booties, yoga mat bags, water bottle covers, etc.  And while it’s still a pretty new hobby, I love it! And I’m always thinking about what I will try to make next. =)

Right now I’m working on two scarves then I will attempt to make a wreath.  I’m not sure how it will work yet, but that’s half the fun! 😉

I made this little set over Christmas.

Now it’s your turn to share your hobbies.  Do you have them? What do you wish you could do that you haven’t tried yet?

Have you tried alpaca (sp?) wool yarn?? A friend of mine made a hat & bootie set out of it for each of my kids… and it is fabulously soft! Love the FMM! Keep them up!

WHAT? Is that you singing? You have a lovely voice! You're so multi-talented, it makes me sick.

    Gwen,

My friend, Megan, gave me my first alapca yarn a couple of weeks ago. It felt really odd to work with, but now I've decided that I love it. =)

It's pretty awesome to hear what others think of it too. Thanks for sharing.
