Friend Makin' Mondays

Friend Makin’ Mondays: Holidays

I know I say this a lot, but I can’t believe it’s already Monday!  After a great weekend, that went by too fast, I’m looking forward to my weekly routine.  Is it just me, or is eating vegetables more fun Monday through Friday?  Anyway, you know what Monday means, right?  It’s time for FMM, and today I want to talk about holidays.  Last week, Kelly and I were talking about Christmas because yours truly is already stocking  up on Christmas gifts.  (Yes, I’m that person.)  And I learned that Kelly doesn’t adore the holidays like I do.  Luckily for her, I love them enough for both of us.  😉  But this realization from someone so close made me wonder how everyone else feels about it.

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: What’s your favorite holiday?  And why?

I get pretty excited about most things, including holidays.   I love almost all of them, but the Fall/Winter holidays are my favorite.  Last year, I was dealing with so much inner angst that I didn’t start listening to Christmas music until Christmas Eve so this year I’m getting a head start on the excitement.  Sure, I’ve already purchased a couple of gifts, but I’m looking forward to quality time with my family.  And I can’t wait to enjoy Thanksgiving first!  Like I said, I love the holidays and the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I love the parties, the music and the anticipation!  I also love seeing relatives at the family Christmas dinner, and this year, I’ll get to be there for it which is awesome! 🙂  I also love drinking hot chocolate and knitting scarves, socks and snow people.

My first try...

I love playing with my niece, manicures with the girls and Dad.   He doesn’t look like a guy who’d have a manicure, but he has a pretty persuasive daughter who convinced him it was a good idea a couple of Christmases ago in New York. 😉  I also love baking with Mom and my sister and listening to my brother-in-law yell at the TV on game day. I just enjoy being with my family so I don’t take it for granted when it happens.   Oh, and I also love shopping on Black Friday and presents. 😉

And after Christmas, I’ll head to New York where I’ll do some fun things including a midnight run in Central Park (get ready for me to talk about this a lot. I’m so excited!)  And let’s not forget my visit with Scrooge, I mean, Kelly. Ha…I also hope to see one of my awesome high school friends and a few other friends and places.  Is it Thanksgiving yet?!  No?  That’s okay, I’ll just make cards and plans while I listen to the Elf Soundtrack or something. 😉

Yep, I make Thanksgiving cards. Is that weird?

What can I say? I love snow people!

Now it’s your turn! What’s your favorite holiday?  Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments!

I used to be such a holiday person – I would go all Martha Stewart decorating, and baking, and planning… and then life just got busy! I guess we all wish for the way things used to be?

Halloween is more my thing now – I love the spooky elements! Great topic!

I am just really starting to get into the decorating and baking part…In my younger years I didn’t like it. Now I am totally digging it!

I am hoping (wishing, praying, fingers crossed!!!) to be able to have some foster kids for the season as well…would totally make it amazing!!!

Love Thanksgiving. I become Martha Stewart on steroids planning the menu. And, yes, everything’s healthy.

I love Fall and Winter season!! I love bundling up in homemade scarves and hats, cozy jackets and sweatpants!

The grass is always greener (summer) towards the end of winter when I am just sick of the grayness…but the beginning always is so much fun! I love the smell of a good rain!
