Friend Makin’ Mondays: What’s On Your Workout Playlist?

by Kenlie Tiggeman on March 5, 2012

After being out of the gym for two weeks, I’m back in full force, and I’m relying on my favorite tunes to get my heart pumping.  I tweet about my playlist pretty regularly, but it has changed considerably since I last blogged about it.  And because so many of us workout hard, I have to know what’s on yours too.  (See, Timmo?  I told you that this week would be more gender friendly!)

I made a new FMM logo pic! Feel free to use it so everyone remembers to link back to make new friends and receive comments!

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: What’s On Your Workout Playlist?

My playlist varies, but there are several songs from one artist that always seem to make the rotation these days.  My favorite workout tunes are by Sophie-Ellis Bextor.  A friend, introduced me to her music last year, and my workouts haven’t been the same since!  Here are a few that always motivate me to work a little faster and a little harder…

  • Revolution
  • Bittersweet
  • Off & On
  • Heartbreak
  • Can’t Fight This Feeling
  • Under Your Touch

And some other favorites are…

  • Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce
  • Get Up Offa That Thing  by James Brown
  • Uprising by Muse
  • You Can’t Stop the Beat from Hairspray
  • P.I.M.P by 50 Cent
  • We Can by Leanne Rimes
  • You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift
  • One Girl Revolution by Superchick
  • Everlong by the Foo Fighters

Now it’s your turn to share your list.  Don’t forget to come back to link up in the comments!  Happy Monday!

I’ll have to skip this week – I don’t have a playlist! If I’m walking outside, I enjoy the time to just think or talk with a walking buddy, and if I’m inside, then I’m watching TV.

Those are also nice ways to exercise! I use music to keep my pace, but I like your ways too.

So mine is old and lame because I’m usually working out outside and either listening to instructions, talking with friends, or avoiding being hit by a car, so I pretty much never listen to it. But once in a while I’ll use it on a treadmill.

Old and lame? Nah…..we all have our own ways! And I’d say that keeping yourself from getting hit by a car should be at the top of the list..Ha..

I had fun with this one – music is a big part of my running workouts! And I’m so, so stuck in the 80s….

Oh boy…My favorite Richard Simmons DVDis all 80′s tunes. I can’t hear “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” without immediately feeling an aching need to workout. Not kidding.

Okay, so mine may be a little lame to start with, but I am working on it. :)

Where to begin? I’ll just link to my Tunes for Tuesdays posts on my blog:
http://www.shrinkingsisters.com/shrinking_sisters/tunes-for-tuesday/

Listening to music is what got me going from walking to running. I am literally a “slave to the rhythm” so the faster the music, the faster I go.

Yep..My pace is greatly affected by the beat!

I kinda feel like an impostor posting my “blog” for FMM since I have only made a few posts and haven’t even fleshed my site out yet. But, I guess there is no time like the present so here goes: http://shannland.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/friend-makin-mondays/

I love, love, love this topic because I’m always looking for new music to get me through my workouts. I use songs to keep me going – “I’ll stop after this next song” or “I’ll do 4 more songs worth on the elliptical,” etc.
