Friend Makin' Mondays

Friend Makin’ Mondays: Quick and Easy

Am I the only one who can’t believe that it’s already Monday again?  I had a full and active weekend that consisted of good company and excellent workouts, but Saturday and Sunday always seems to go by faster than the rest of the week.

One of the highlights of my weekend was my afternoon bike ride yesterday.  I rode 20 miles during the hottest part of the day, and I enjoyed every minute of the sunny afternoon.  But after my shower, I realized how foolish it was to ride that long without ultra-strong sunblock.

I may be slow, but I feel incredible when I'm moving...

I really should have known better.

I also finished reading “Fifty Shades of Grey” so I’m reading the second book now.  I’m still not sure what all the fuss is about, but I like the bond of love and the emotional connection that they have developed so I’ll keep reading.  Am I the only one who thinks that Matt Bomer should play Christian Grey in the movie?  Robert Pattinson might be a stellar choice too. 😉  Now it’s time for FMM.

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: Quick and Easy

1. When is your birthday? July 5.

2. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper and mailed it?  Last month.

3. What did you eat for breakfast this morning? Cabbage salad (which I have not eaten yet.)

4. Who is the next band/artist you will see perform live? Gavin DeGraw

5. What is the last song you listened to? This Love by Ellie Goulding

6. If you could be fluent in any other language, which one would you choose? Espanol

7. Does anything on your body hurt right now? I have a major sunburn.  It doesn’t hurt yet, but I’m worried that it might soon. My hands are even sun-burned…

8. What’s your favorite sports team? I’m a Saints girl, and I’m a Yankees girl.

9. How often do you watch the news? Everyday…

10. Do you wear glasses? Yes, and I’ve noticed that I need them more now than I did a year ago.

This week was short and simple, and now it’s your turn to answer the questions!  Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments!

Good job on the bike ride, & oh my word on
the sunburn. I guess we aren’t in the groove
of summer sunscreen yet, but it’s that time!
    Finally. Yay!

Oh my gosh, that burn looks awful. After it fades, make sure you go to a derm for regular checks. I didn’t really have answers to a few of them, but I took a crack at it.

Kenlie, you rocked it! My little fellow bike lovie! (And I am also sporting the bike ride tan today! I put block on, so it’s not as bad. But it’s still red and hurty to the touch…. Hurty is TOO a word, by the way! lol)

    Have a great week! xoxo

The fuss is because he is a masochist who is into bondage and submission and pain. Which gets peoples heckles up naturally. We as women fought for years to be treated equal and the notion that someone would willingly go into a submission stance and allow themselves to be tied up and smacked frankly scares the crap out of a lot of people. Also the fact that she was doing it to please him and she didn’t really enjoy it herself (initially) also gets people’s feminist side up. I can see too a mother being upset thinking my teenage daughter read this because we want to teach our daughters to be strong and not allow a man to repress them. Know what I mean?

Personally I don’t have an issue with the book and quite liked it but that is what a lot of people do take an issue with.

There are at least two fusses, the one hillary writes about and the one I and my other…wait for it…groooannn…English majors–well, actually, and older folks, too, talk among ourselves about is the fact that it is not great literature. Not even really good literature. The Fifty Shades of Gray series, the vampire books (excluding some of Anne Rice) and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo may all go on to become movies but literarily and literally, aren’t worth the reading time. Hey, Kenlie, you gave me a great excuse not to go biking anytime soon.;-)

Personally things don’t have to be great works of literature for me to enjoy it. Like eating McDonald’s. It’s no fine dining but sometimes it hits the spot.

I need to get out there & raise the handlebars on my bike. I feel like I’m leaning too far forward, my hands hurt & I get a crick in my neck. I’ll be looking for a wrench when I get home!

Ouch! Hope your burn doesn’t hurt too bad, it does look like a painful one! Hopefully at least it leaves behind a nice tan I guess, not how I would want some color but once the burn is already there you might as well hope for something nice from it.

Here is my post for FMM

Nice bike ride! I just bought a bike a couple weeks ago (the first time I rode since I was a little kid) and have been really having a great time. Of course, being completely unrealistic with my fitness goals, I think I can ride the Tour de France in like a week. I get frustrated so easily with my speed/time/endurance, you name it . . . ugh.
