Making Strides Against Cancer

Sunday is going to be an exciting day because I’m taking part in an important walk with my “angel in the office” and the American Cancer Society.

Gina has been a blessing to me since the moment I walked into Tulane for the first time flustered and confused in January, and I can’t wait to walk in support and celebration of her.

This beautiful woman has spent most of the last year making sure that I have healthy options before every class.

When I’m standing in front of the vending machine looking disappointed she walks up with a fresh piece of fruit or a salad or a Fiber One brownie.  She’s always there for me, and this Sunday I’ll have the opportunity to be there for her.

She’s important to me so please take a few minutes to listen to her story.  You’ll be glad you did.

I’m looking forward to being there, and if you’re in the area we’d love to see you too!  If you’d like to sign up to walk with us, or just to show your support check out her site here.

In her video, Gina talks about the importance of self-examinations, and she believes they’re important for men too.  Have you ever done a self-examination?

What a beautiful thing to do. Since moving I have yet to find that kind of friend here. I have had one throughout my life that has looked after me and that I could turn to and miss not having one! It is sooo important and she is a treasure! Keep a hold of her xoxo

Gina you are an inspiration. Hurray for self-breast examinations!! Quick, easy, painless and a potential life-saver.
