It Happened Today

I moved into my new apartment today, and I’m thrilled about it!  The Suit joined my mom and our family friend, D,  in helping me move everything in this afternoon before he and I had to go to class, and when class was over I arrived to find that Mom and D had unpacked all of my boxes, put a book case together and taken out all of the garbage!

They accomplished so much, and I’m so thankful that they took the time to help me today!  My goal for tomorrow and the weekend is to put the rest of my furniture together and to get everything clean and in order before Sunday.

Moving in was a monumental pain, but I didn’t have to do it alone.  I’m thankful for the people who love me and for the adorable place with amazing city views that I now call home.  I’m also thankful that the cable/internet guys did their job so flawlessly and that the furniture folks arrived on time.

My building is gorgeous, but it’s not complete yet.  I’m the first person to live in my apartment, and there was still some wet paint when I arrived, but I can’t wait to make it home.  The only room that is moderately presentable is the bathroom, but I plan to post more photos than anyone cares to see at some point soon. ;)

I’ll post pictures when everything is organized, but right now my plan is to fall into bed.  I’m not feeling 100%, but I’m hoping that a solid night of sleep will change that.

Tonight I’m thankful for my life, the direction in which it’s headed and the amazing people in it.

What are you thankful for today?

  4. Congrats on the move!

I am thankful for my heating pad. I pulled something in my back and it is really helping with the pain (well, that and my prescription pain pills from my surgery last week).

  5. Congrats on your cute new place!!! Moving is a pain but once everything is all set it’s so wonderful! I’m thankful today for life. My 30-year-old cousin passed away suddenly this weekend of a brain hemorrhage, and it made me remember that we never know when life as we know it can end. So – I am thankful for the amazing friends and family I have that always lift me up, my blog, my home, my husband, my cats, my car, my bed… you name it :)
