Lifestyle Reflection

A Week Later…

Last night I was on the phone with Dad, and he asked me why I hadn’t posted anything here in the last few days.  The answer is simple: I needed a break from the negativity.  I posted about how frustrating it can be to receive despicable comments, but I’m back.

The last several days have beenincredibly busy and wonderful.  Lance was here from Wednesday until Monday, and I spent nearly every moment with him.  🙂  We had a great time everyday, and we spent quality time together and with people that matter a lot in my life.  He even spent time with The Suit which made me happy too.

There’s so much to share about our time together that I don’t know where to start.  I can’t wait to see him again, and I will soon.  It’s awesome to know that he feels the same way about that.

When he left Monday I cried, then I went to school before going to dinner with some lovely ladies.  We went to G.W. Fins for dinner in the French Quarter, and I spent yesterday being productive just as I plan to again today.

Being away from my blog for more than a day or two makes me feel uneasy, but I needed a little time to cleanse my thoughts of the negativity that I sometimes face here.  Now I’m back and ready to appreciate all of the incredible things that have come as a result of blogging.

Do you ever take deliberate blogging breaks?  If so, why did you decide to do it, and why did you decide to resume?

Welcome back, Kenlie. You look very happy in your photo. Glad you had a good visit.

Yes, I take blogging breaks- when the computer breaks, when I need a break so I can focus on family, my career, or just getting enough sleep so I can function.

One thing I do not take a break from is my new “normal” of eating. Maintaining a 72 pound loss is something that keeps me pretty busy- day in and day out with cooking, meal planning, clean up. Combine that with the rest of life- and time goes quickly. It’s so worth it.

Good luck and looking forward to reading about your plans- weight loss and non-weight loss this year. You or a friend ? might screen your posts before they appear in your comment area. Keeps the comments from rattling around too much. Karen P.

I’m an introvert by nature, introverts recharge in solitude and sometimes that includes online. From the start I created my blog for me and never want to feel I have to post. Definitely admire those who are very dedicated to their blogs but that’s what’s great about blogging – you can decide what you want to do.

I tend to run away from my blog when things are bad I usually will pick myself back up and dust myself off and start blogging again it’s a matter of being right with my mind and wanting to blog but I’m looking at ways to change that to be able to blog when there’s good and when there’s bad. Total honesty.

Being that I’m still a greenhorn when it comes to blogging I haven’t taken an extended break yet. Most I’ve taken off is 4-5 days. I do notice though when I come back after a few days I have a lot more to say. Posting everyday is sometimes a challenge.

welcome back ! I think it’s perfectly OK to take breaks from blogging, especially if you are dealing with negativity. It can sure such the JOY out of a person. My life tends to be really busy with work, family and working out… it keeps me exhausted and I have trouble finding energy to come up with good topics to blog about. Sometimes I care what people think, other times I just use my blog as an accountability for myself to stay motivated to stay on my journey. There are days I like to blog and other days I just like to read and catch up with my other blogger friends. I may go to an every other day thing…just to stay sane and to keep from burning out.
    Stay strong. You’re an inspiration.

Keep your chin up and forget people who are negative, just delete them and move on. I am glad you are back, you are such an inspiration and we need you!!

Glad to see you back 🙂 I think it’s perfectly fine to take breaks – probably even good for you to take a breather and just focus on you! It’s good to see you had a nice break to catch up on all the good things in life. Your dinner looks amazing by the way!

Hello Kenlie, I do not have a blog. I could never keep up with one but I do enjoy reading them. I have seen many negative comments. I try and say a little prayer for those people who are mean spirited. You have to remember they say mean things because it makes themselves feel better. Also when people feel negative emotions about someone else, it’s usually a reflection of something within THEMSELVES that they don’t like. I can only assume they didn’t have a mother to tell them, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

In any event, I found your blog from a colleague of mine who has been following you for a long time and is on her own weight loss journey. I too recently joined back to Weight Watchers. I use the Activelink to keep me moving more. I’ve lost 18 lbs. since late August and I have about 25 more to go till I reach goal. (Just a little info about me 😉 No matter how much weight one has to lose it is never easy!!

Keep your chin up and your spirits high and keep doing what you do, because so many people need to be around someone who has a spirit like yours. I too love your smile in the picture above. Your beauty shines from within!! Remember that when trying to change the outside while learning to love yourself inside. (I really LOVE that you said that because all of our wounds stem from within from past abuse and hurt that we have endured. Once you can heal your inside, the rest of it will just fall away). Just something I learned this year on my own journey of spiritual enlightenment.

    Infinite Blessings,

Sometimes you just cant get to the computer or just can’t get the words out. My blogging has been more hit or miss since the holiday season, not for lack of trying…but every time I sit at the computer 1000 things come up. Life is crazy, and we understand that…hopefully all of our readers do.

I always take breaks from my blog, but not on purpose, but just because life gets in the way and I run out of time.

I absolutely love writing and keeping a blog, but I don’t have near the readership that you do.

I’m glad you are back now though and I can’t wait for the next FMM 🙂
