EatSmart Makes Eating Smart Easy

by Kenlie Tiggeman on January 9, 2013

I’ve been feeling good about my workouts lately, and I’ve been doing well with my food intake too.  I can still improve a lot, but I feel like I’m finding my way back to a healthy track.

I’m making an effort to eat at home more often because it’s easier to make good choices when I do.  I weigh and measure everything at home, and I want you to be able to do it too which leads me to today’s topic.

My new EatSmart food scale is amazing.  I love every EatSmart product that I own, but this scale is particularly awesome because it’s easy to use, easy to read and the platform for measurement is much bigger than any other food scale I’ve ever owned.  My favorite thing about this scale is its giant, lighted display, but I also appreciate how easy it is to make note of exactly what I’m consuming.

scale

When I eat a giant salad I like a little salad dressing, but it’s easy to eat more of it than we realize we’re eating so I place my salad on the scale, and I measure one serving of dressing.  It is a lot more precise than using a spoon, or eyeballing it.

It looks nice on my counter too so it’s already ready to use when I’m ready to measure.  When it’s easy to do it, we’re more likely to make good choices.  I’m not the only one who feels this way, right?

If you want a chance to win, here’s what you have to do.

- Check out the EatSmart Precision Elite Digital Food Scale, and leave a comment telling me if you’d like to win it.  (one entry)

- Follow @eatsmartscales on twitter and tell them @alltheweigh says hi! (two entries)  I said this last year too, but it’s true.  You should get to know them.  They’re good folks!  If you already follow them, just let me know in a separate comment.

- Like EatSmart on Facebook and tell them you’re participating in this giveaway.  Feel free to tell me hi on my page too though it’s not required to receive your entry:facebook.com/alltheweighblog (two entries)

- Blog about this giveaway on your blog.  Feel free to keep it short and sweet.  Just don’t forget to link back to this post! (three entries)

Each entry must be separate to count as an additional entry so keep that in mind, and go for it!

EatSmart has made this giveaway possible by offering their latest food scale to one lucky winner.  I’ll choose the winner randomly on Monday, january 14, 2013 at 9 pm central time, and I’ll notify the winner via e-mail.  The winner will have 48 hours to respond with a mailing address, or I’ll choose a new winner.  The giveaway is open to U.S. residents only!

Good luck!!!! :)

That scale looks pretty sweet, but living in Russia disqualifies me. Anyway, happy cooking with your pretty new toy :)

I would very much like to win this scale. I have a hard time figuring out values when I’m cooking fresh meat and produce and it would really help me quite a lot.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!

I definitely would! I’ve been searching for a good food scale that I don’t mind leaving out on my (admittedly limited) counter space. This would definitely fit the bill.

I’ve always wanted to try a food scale, but the ones I have seen at the stores seem mediocre at best. This one looks amazing!

Kenlie…

Always love the chance to win something fun and fab! This would be a great prize too as my hubby and I are always on the look out for a good food scale. We have had a few, but they were either too flimsy or too user Unfriendly.

Anyways…after reading the description…I’d have to say my fav thing about this is either the precision it touts (both cooking AND baking) or the fact that it factors OUT the weight of the plate. We had one that we had to weight each individual thing and holy cow, what a mess!

I really want one of these, but I have nowhere to keep it in our super tiny, super crowded kitchen.

Also, if I remember right, unless the specific gravity of a fluid is equal to 1, 1 liquid ounce does not equal 1 weighted ounce. ;) Water at 32* has a specific gravity of 1.
