Can Componeers Give Me the Smile I’ve Always Wanted?

If you know me, you know that I smile a lot. I havedecent teeth.  They’re pretty straight and whiter than average, but they’re far from perfect.  As an adult, I made the decision to wear clear braces, which I’ve talked about on my blog before.

I have used teeth whitener in the past, making them really white at times, and when I feel motivated to wear my Invisaligns, I do it.  Sadly, I’m not as committed to doing that as I should be, and it seems to be directly correlated to my weight.  When I was in the 280’s, I happily wore them, but once my weight creeped up over 300 again, I found myself failing to wear them.  My teeth have shifted a little, but I’ve also begun wearing them again so there’s hope!

It seems that I lack consistency in some key areas of my life, but I’m trying to change that.  And while some might say that my teeth shouldn’t be a concern right now, they are.  My ability to smile and like what I see directly affects how I feel about myself.  I feel fairly confident about my smile most of the time, but it’s fun to imagine how amazing I’d feel if I had a perfect, Hollywood smile.

smile-closeupI receive compliments on my teeth, but I often wonder what  it would be like to have veneers.  I know people who have taken drastic measures to improve their smile, and for the most part, they look great.  I like to imagine a world in which my teeth are always flawless, but I don’t like to idea of spending thousands of dollars to watch someone shave my natural teeth off, only to replace them with something temporary.

Componeers are a newer kind of veneer that can create a smile without going through such a drastic process.  It also costs half of what the older, more invasive veneers cost, and a dentist can do the procedure in one office visit.  For those reasons, I’m day dreaming about a trip to the dentist again.  (Did I really just say that I am day dreaming about a trip to the dentist? Hehe)

Does anyone here have veneers, or some form of them?  Would you consider getting Componeers to improve your smile?

I think your smile and teeth look great, and I wouldn’t want to spend the money to have unnecessary work done. My fear would be that the work wouldn’t make them that much better, and it can’t be undone. My teeth aren’t perfect either, but they are pretty good, and until my dentist says I need work, they are staying as they are. I use the whitening strips now and then, just to give them a boost.

However, if you think they are a true problem, then talk to your dentist.

I think your smile is perfect as is. I would never look at you and think you needed any dental work whatsoever. You are blessed with lovely teeth and such a beautiful smile I can’t imagine it being any better!

I think you have a great smile! I can’t imagine you being able to improve on it! LOL Seriously your teeth are very nice!

I have an entire mouth of crowns. The process took almost 1-1/2 years but they do look really great if I do say so myself! It also really did help with my self esteem because my horrible teeth were always something that bothered me.

Why in the world would you want to mess up the smile that you have? Some people would die to have teeth that are nice like yours. I say that you should just leave them alone! They are white, they are nice and your smile is terrific! There really is no improvement to be made….plus it could damage the great teeth that you have!

OMG, I want these! My teeth are nowhere near as pretty as yours – 10 years of smoking (I quit 4 years ago), more cavities than I can shake a stick at, and several breaks covered with veneers – well let’s just say I am not happy with my smile. You, on the other hand, have a beautiful smile. Don’t ruin it!

Your teeth look pretty darn gorgeous to me! and if you don’t need to fix anything for health reasons, I’d say love what you you have, your true shine comes out when you smile and if you think you are beautiful people will see the beauty

I want those and I would SO do that. I don’t have a horrible smile (my teeth are relatively straight) but I drink way too much coffee and tea, as well as having had two children has caused my teeth to become more transparent, which I HATE. I have said for quite some time that I will have veneers one day when I can afford them and I would ABSOLUTELY go for this option! 🙂

Kenlie, I agree. I did actually watch the short video of the procedure. It might be a good option for someone who actually has bad teeth. But you have a beautiful smile! No need to fix near perfection.

I was actually just thinking TODAY that I wanted to ask you about your teeth because they are amazing. You seriously have the best smile of anyone I’ve ever met. I think we’ll always be conscious of little things we want to tweak. I never needed braces but I have a small gap in a couple of my side teeth because of a childhood accident. No one notices it but me!

But, I really don’t think you need any componeers. You do need to tell me what whitening products you use. 🙂

I am just now reading this post….I am agreeing with everyone else you have the most amazing smile ever!! I of course have had 2 sets of braces, fillings, porcelain crowns and bleaching trays – because I am like you as well I LOVE a good smile!! But my years of eating ICE have slowly chipped away literally my cute little smile….so in other options I might consider these myself….but either way I always go for what makes me happy!!
