I love doing fun and exciting things with my friends, but sometimes it’s nice to enjoy quiet moments with my family too. This weekend included exercise, healthy food, a little shopping and a lot of quality time with Mom. I slept like a baby at her house over the weekend, and now I’m back home, energized and ready to face another busy week.
When I got home, I checked my blog and found that Dad had written for me and shared in the comments section, and of course, I have to share it here. Having a poem written in my honor doesn’t happen everyday (err, you know, ever until now) so I want to say thanks to Dad publicly. Here’s the poem…
You are never alone in your journey,
Though you may sometimes forget,
There are many on your side,
Who face the same challenges, fears and regrets.
It’s knowing that you are not alone,
That gives you ALL, the hope, the courage and the inspiration to go on and persevere.
Know this, if there were no others, God and Dad are on your side, we are always there.
As I grow older, I realize that I have something that a lot of people don’t have even though we all deserve it. I have two parents who love me, and I’m thankful for it. Okay, enough with the mushiness (for now.) It’s time to get to this week’s FMM topic! I know it won’t be Spring for a few weeks, but I’m looking forward to it for several reasons, and I think it’s fun to daydream about the beautiful weather that Spring brings so let’s do it.
Long before I hosted FMM every week, I participated in it. Kasey was the first host I knew, and Amber took over from there. I looked forward to it every week, and when I googled “Spring” I found an old post that Amber had written for FMM about spring years before. I participated in it back then, and it made me smile so I asked her if I could use her questions as a guide for this week’s post.
If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!
Almost Spring
1. What do you love most about Spring? My niece was born in the Spring, and every year I visit for her birthday. It’s easily my favorite thing about the season. I just found out that this year I’ll have a reason to love the fall just as much. Yay!
2. If you’re lucky enough to have a Spring Break, what will you do to enjoy it? I will spend Spring Break traveling.
3. What is your favorite flower? I love daisies and tulips and roses….I just love bright, happy looking flowers.
4. Do you have a garden? If so, what do you grow? I do not, but I wish I did! I loved playing in the garden at Mom’s house, but living in a high-rise downtown isn’t exactly conducive to gardening. ;)
5. Share one thing that you hope to accomplish during Spring. I’m working on a new wreath, but I haven’t touched it in weeks. It’s time to finish it so I can hang it on my door! See the unfinished wreath next to the TV? Yeah…I think I just inspired myself to finish it tonight.
6. Do you do Spring cleaning? My apartment is so small that keeping it clean isn’t difficult. I clean the floors, counters, baseboard, etc. regularly so there’s really no need for “spring cleaning.” I don’t have a lot of storage space either (please excuse my whining) so there’s no room for clutter either.
7. What is your weather *really* like right now? {Just b/c it’s almost Spring, doesn’t mean that it feels like it for some of you.} It was chilly yesterday, but today the weather is perfect in New Orleans.
8. Share one photo that you’ve taken during the month of March. I tackled the ladder over the weekend during my workout with Mom.
9. What’s your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon? It’s really sunny today, and I would love to be somewhere riding my bicycle.
10. If you could spend the day doing anything in your city, what would you do? I’d have a picnic on the roof with good company.
Now it’s your turn to answer this week’s questions! Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments!

Can’t wait for Spring! I need to enjoy it and remember it’s not just a season that leads to one of my favourites, Summer!
I’ll be flying to work next week and dealing with a +5 on UK time , time difference so this is probably my last FMM for a few weeks!
