Training Myself To Be An Early Bird

This is a busy season of life, and a couple of weeks ago I decided to make some adjustments in my time management. I’ve said no at times when I would normally say yes, and I started getting up earlier than normal when we returned home from Colorado earlier this month.

Now instead of getting up during the 8 o’clock hour and strolling toward between 10 and 11, I’m waking up between 6 and 7 and striving to get to work between 8 and 9. I realize that’s not early for most people, but it significantly increases the time I have to accomplish other things throughout the day. And I really like it.

As an adult I have always been a night owl, but next month I will be living with an early bird. When the sun is up Michael is up, and he’s ready for bed much earlier than most other 30-year old guys.

I’ve always been attracted to older men, but I found the best of both worlds with him. He’s several years younger than I am, but he acts like he’s in his 50’s. That’s the perfect combination if you ask me!

There will still be nights when I go to bed after him, but I’m adjusting to my new schedule nicely. I like the quiet times that I get to spend with him before the day gets busy, and I accomplish so much more in the quiet hours at work before everyone else arrives. I got a promotion at work too, so going in early seems to be working great so far.

    I have become an early bird…for me it’s just consistently walking up early har has made me this way!!

    I’m an early bird too- I believe it is inherent in your nature, but it can be changed. I love to get up early- usually by 5 AM but I am in bed by 9. My husband was a night owl and we got along just fine. Don’t worry about it- after the first couple of years of marriage, you will have everything sorted out! I bet you are getting excited about the wedding.

    Always go to bed together! There’s the cuddling and the sex and the talks. It’s a very intimate time. Please don’t deprive yourselves of the closeness that comes from those bedtime hours.

    My husband and I always go to bed at the same time. Maybe that’s weird, but it’s just what we do, ha ha. And when my son was born (he’s 4 now) he forced us to be early risers all the time. If we get to sleep in until 7:30 on a weekend, it’s a miracle! And sometimes we go to bed by 10:30 which is much earlier for us! I know we need more sleep and really should go to bed closer to 10 or earlier since I get up at 5:50 on weekdays!
