Crafty Kenlie

I’ve been quiet here over the last few weeks, but I’ve been blogging in other places. I wrote a post about Old Navy on the PlusInc blog, and I wrote an article about my love for Richard Simmons on DietsinReview.com. Last week the Today Show talked about Richard, and a friend sent me this photo from the segment. I had never seen it, but I remember that day. It made me smile, and I want to wish Richard every happiness. I’m praying for his healing too.

The month started with a bit of stress, but most of it has subsided. Now I’m in holiday mode, and I cannot wait to finish decorating for Christmas. I’ve been baking cookies, which is something that I do at this time of year. (I’ll share some photos soon.)

I’ve also been making wreaths. I sold a few last week, which is great because it means that I get to make more wreaths. I’ve been knitting too, which is also good because it keeps my hands busy.

Crafting has always been a pretty big part of my life, but lately I’ve been reminded of how much I love it! Cookie art aside, crafting keeps me from mindlessly snacking, which is a double-win.

Thanksgiving is almost here. The end of the semester will be here before I know it, and that means that I have to manage my time well so that I’m not stressing over exams and papers two weeks from now.

Happy (almost) holidays!

Friend Makin’ Mondays: I Am ______________

After a fun weekend that feels like it flew by, it’s time to start a new week.  But first, check out the painting I did over the weekend.  Obviously, I’m not a painter, but I had a great time at my friend’s bachelorette party where we all painted a bridge.

Can you tell it's a bridge?

And after painting and watching movies then painting ornaments Sunday morning, I did some Christmas shopping then spent the afternoon with Cal.  It was such a great weekend with friends. Now it’s Monday, and you know what the means…

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

FMM: I am…

1. I am good at…painting my own nails, baking, singing…

This is my current favorite...again...

2. I am happy when…I’m  around people that love me.

3. I am working on…losing weight.  It’s not easy right now, but I’m determined.

4. I am interested in…traveling, trying new recipes, etc.

5. I am always…excited to see Cal.

6. I am enjoying…my craftiness.  Right now, I am obsessed with making wreaths! I also want to make a 12 Days of Christmas calendar so maybe I’ll work on that during my free time this week!  And I’m making Christmas cards too!  I might need more hours in my day to accomplish all of that. 😉

I love making felt rosettes!

7. I am in…Louisiana today, but during the next month or so, I’ll also be in Texas, Oklahoma and New York.

8. I am reading…My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster…finally…and Something Blue by Emily Giffin.

9. I am concerned about…having enough felt to finish the wreath I’m working on now.  (I told you…I’m obsessed.)

10. I am looking forward to…going to Dad’s house, seeing old friends and swimming laps while I’m there.

Now it’s your turn! Don’t forget to come back and share a link to your blog in the comments! Happy Monday my friends!

Weekend Update

My weekend was extraordinarily busy, but I enjoyed every minute of it. It started with dinner and drinks with Cal before I left town, and it hasn’t really ended yet (even though it’s Tuesday.) Okay, so the weekend is over, but I’m out of town so it doesn’t feel like a typical week at all.

He lets me be as cheesy as I want to be...:)

I’m in Texas. I spent the weekend in Austin with my friend, Janna, and we shopped, ate good food and had a craft night with girlfriends. And it was awesome. 🙂

My wreath made my bike look festive, didn't it? 🙂

I made a Christmas wreath and felt inspired to paint and glitter a few pieces too! Saying that glitter was everywhere would be an understatement. It was everywhere, but it seemed to make us all pretty happy.

Now, after spending the day in Houston before crafting with my cousin, Mandy, I’ve arrived at my aunts’ house. I promised that I’d visit soon so I could sing karaoke at a place the go to pretty regularly. And if Aunt Janice asks me to sing, I sing.

I made a felt tree ornament, but I'm not sure if it's finished yet.

After a long, fun weekend, I’m ready for a little sleep. I ate pretty well until today, but I didn’t exercise much. I walked around the Houston outlets for about an hour, but my walk was leisurely so I’ll sweat more tomorrow.

Until then, I’m going to dream about seeing Breaking Dawn over the weekend and seeing my boyfriend though not at the same time because I don’t want to submit him to the Twilight Saga. He said he’d take me to Ikea today (or anywhere I want to go) so why push it? 😉

How’s everyone doing today? What have I missed during my limited access the interwebs?
